The RiverHill is the perfect location for your Wedding Day, including the Wedding Ceremony itself. If you are considering a civil marriage at The RiverHill, you may find the following information helpful.

Ceremonies may be held from 9.00 am until 4.00pm each day (except Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Main Bank Holidays).

After discussing dates and times with the hotel, the bride and groom to be must notify Birkenhead Registry Office of their intention to marry at the RiverHill and make and advanced booking with their registrar. Provisional bookings can be made 12 months in advance.

Civil marriage ceremonies are solemn and non-religious. Any queries with regard to this can be dealt with by the registry office.

Music as a background to the event, to be supplied by the guest.

The bride and groom must meet with the registrar privately before the ceremony in a separate room. They need not be seen together if they do not wish to meet prior to the ceremony. The hotel will provide a room for this.

After the ceremony, you may arrange the recital of poetry or personal vows, however, please discuss this with the registrar in advance.

No flash photography to be used during the ceremony.

The hire charge of the room in the hotel is £100.00 Monday to Friday and £150.00 on a Saturday and Sunday, and is payable 14 days in advance.
